Opening hours:
The office will be open from
9am – 5pm Monday to Friday,
10am – 12noon Saturday.
The grounds will be open from
9am – 5pm Monday to Friday,
and 10am – 4pm weekends and public holidays.
If you are making a special journey to view a memorial, please do ring ahead, as very occasionally individual pages of the Book of Remembrance may not be available, or areas of the building in which memorials are displayed may be closed for refurbishment. Occasionally our office opening hours may also vary slightly.
Whilst we make every effort to ensure the grounds and buildings are safe, anyone visiting the crematorium does so at their own risk and we disclaim all liability for any injury, however caused.
Vehicles and possessions are also brought at your own risk.
Facilities
There is parking for around 100 cars. Toilet facilities are available during the office opening hours. The chapel and toilet facilities are accessible for wheelchairs, as are the Book of Remembrance and the wreath court. Visiting the slate plaque memorials requires walking over grass for up to 200m. If you have any special requirements owing to disability, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
We do not encourage dogs in the crematorium grounds. Only assistance dogs are permitted within the building. Where dogs are bought into the grounds, if they leave the car, please ensure they are kept on a short lead and that you clean up after them. Thank you.
Drinks and refreshments are not available at the crematorium, but there are shops, cafes and public houses available in Alford. There are also hotels and guest houses available in Alford for overnight accommodation.
